My Leaping Heart

...is about everyday things and experiences that inspire me and move me to a state of awe. In this day and age where most of us run through life rather than walk, it's good to find the childlike wonder that is still there if only we stop and pause.

About Me

My photo
Melinda Wyant Jansen
For the last 11 years, I've had the privilege of being the school counselor at one the most amazing k8 bilingual schools on Milwaukee’s south side, Escuela Vieau. I have a masters degree in ed psych & counseling; undergraduate degrees in early childhood ed & elementary education. I have taught in IN, WI, & Saudi Arabia and have traveled to nearly every place I have dreamed of traveling to. I’m married to my soul mate and the mother of three very well turned-out children. I’m a Nonna to 7 incredible grandchildren – four of which are twins. My oldest daughter and I share the status of “mothers of twins.” My family is the light of my life. Working with the students and families at work is a passion for me and I love going to work everyday. I've never had a boring day!
